# What is a GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) and how do I get one?

For 2026, the GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) — also called the Federal Supply Schedule — is a long-term governmentwide contracting vehicle that provides federal, state, local, and tribal governments access to commercial products and services at pre-negotiated prices. To get one, a vendor must submit an offer through GSA's eOffer system, comply with solicitation requirements (including SAM.gov registration, financial responsibility, past performance, and commercial pricing support), and upon award, manage the contract via eTools.

## Details / How it works

The **GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS)** — also called "the Schedules" or the **Federal Supply Schedule** — is a long-term governmentwide contracting vehicle that gives federal, state, local, and tribal governments and other eligible buyers access to commercial products, services, and solutions at pre-negotiated prices.

It is organized into **12 large categories** and further into **Special Item Numbers (SINs)** that map to specific NAICS codes and offerings. The 12 categories are:
- Facilities; Furniture and furnishings; Human capital; Industrial products and services; Information technology; Miscellaneous; Office management; Professional services; Scientific management and solutions; Security and protection; Transportation and logistics; Travel.

A vendor becomes a **MAS Contractor** by submitting an offer to GSA through the **eOffer system** against the current MAS solicitation. Once on Schedule, contractors manage their contract through **eTools**, can list products on **GSA Advantage**, respond to agency RFQs on **GSA eBuy**, and are publicly listed in **GSA eLibrary**.

Agencies use the Schedule under streamlined **FAR 8.4** ordering procedures rather than full open-market competition. However, winning a Schedule contract only creates a **license to compete** for orders—it does not guarantee revenue.

## Numbers & thresholds

| Item | Detail |
|------|--------|
| Number of large categories | 12 |
| Streamlined ordering authority | FAR 8.4 |
| Registration required | SAM.gov (free, renewed every 365 days) |
| Offer submission system | eOffer |
| Post-award management | eTools |
| Product listing marketplace | GSA Advantage |
| RFQ system | GSA eBuy |
| Public directory | GSA eLibrary |

## Exceptions & edge cases

A MAS contract is **not a guarantee of revenue**; it merely grants the right to compete for orders. Vendors must maintain active **SAM.gov registration** (renewed every 365 days) and comply with solicitation requirements including financial responsibility, past performance, and commercial pricing support. The offer process runs through **eOffer** against the current MAS solicitation.
