AI FOR DENTISTS · DONE FOR YOU BY ASTRA AI Fill the chair. Fill the schedule. Keep the front desk human.
Astra AI designs, installs and runs a team of 18 AI agents built for dental practices. They answer inquiries, book patients, bring back overdue hygiene, and follow up on claims. They never give clinical advice.
Where a dental practice quietly loses money.
- The busy front desk. The phone rings while your front desk is checking in a patient.
- The treatment plan that never books. A patient says yes to a treatment plan and never books.
- The overdue hygiene patient. A hygiene patient is overdue and nobody calls.
- The empty slot. A last-minute cancellation leaves a hole in the day. In ADA Health Policy Institute polling reported by Becker’s Dental, about 83% of dentists named short-notice no-shows and cancellations as a top barrier to a full schedule.
- The open claim. A claim sits open for weeks.
Your team is good. They are just doing six jobs.
Why we built it like a team
We build software that gives AI a memory. That is what MIND is.
Most AI sold to dental offices works one tool for one job. A bot here, a reminder app there, a review tool somewhere else. None of them know what the others know.
A real front office does not work like that. The person who confirms the appointment knows what the person who checked the insurance found. So we design the AI side the same way. Eighteen roles. Each with one job. One shared memory. And a hard rule: no clinical advice, ever. If it is about a tooth, a human answers.
Each role gets its own account and its own permissions, set up on purpose. Giving every agent the keys to everything is how mistakes happen.
You have a practice to run. We build it, we run it, and we keep it running. You practice dentistry.

Built for dental practice rules
- Business associate agreements: any vendor that handles patient information for your practice needs a business associate contract first. The agents only work in tools covered by one. If a tool has none, the agent does not touch patient information in it.
- Marketing and patient information: marketing that uses patient information needs the patient’s written authorization, with limited exceptions. The marketing agents never use identifiable patient information or photos without a signed authorization.
- Minimum necessary: reminder and recall texts carry only what is needed, such as the practice name, date, time and reply options. No diagnosis, procedure or balance goes in a text.
- Appointment texts: reminders go to the number the patient gave, name the practice, stay short, and honor opt-outs at once. A reminder with a promotion in it counts as marketing and needs marketing consent.
- Promotion texts: offers such as whitening or aligners need prior written consent, and the agents log it.
- Email: every marketing email carries a real sender, a physical address and a working unsubscribe.
- Reviews: the Review Request Agent only asks real patients. It never writes a review and never pays for one.
- State dental board rules: ad and landing page copy avoids superlatives, unverified claims and fee promises your board restricts. Rules vary by state, so your counsel or state board makes the final call.
- AI vendors: some AI providers sign business associate agreements only on certain tiers. We use only tiers with a signed agreement for any patient information.
- This is not legal advice. Your privacy officer and counsel make the final call on your rules.

Total value: $36,286.53. $2,500/month · AI running costs billed at cost · cancel any time
Value is what it would cost to hire the closest roles at national median pay (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, May 2025), at the share of a full-time role the agents cover. One-time lines use the same wages as a low stand-in for consultant time. It is not a promise of results.

Frequently asked questions
How do dentists use AI in the practice?
Most dental practices start with one AI tool, like a chatbot or a writing assistant. The bigger gain comes from a team: 18 agents that each own one job, such as answering new patient inquiries, running recall, checking insurance and asking for reviews. They share one memory in MIND, so nothing restarts from zero. Astra AI designs that team for your office, installs it on the AI you already use and runs it every month. A licensed person on your team approves anything clinical.
What does the AI cost to run?
The $2,500 a month is our management fee. What the AI itself costs to run is billed separately, at cost. It depends on your message volume. We estimate it with you before you start.
Do I have to switch my practice software?
No. We work in Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Denticon, Curve Dental and others.
Is it HIPAA safe?
The agents are designed around HIPAA rules: minimum-necessary messages, no marketing use of patient information without written authorization, and patient information only goes into tools covered by a signed business associate agreement. We do not claim any tool is certified. Your privacy officer and counsel make the final call.
Can the AI give clinical advice?
No. Anything clinical goes to your team.
Will patients know it is AI?
It says so when asked. You decide where a person steps in.
Can I keep my current texting tools?
Yes, if they fit. We scope it on your call.
Who owns my data?
We go over what is stored, where, and what happens if you cancel on your first call, before you commit to anything.
Is there a guarantee or a pilot?
No. We do not offer free pilots, refunds or guarantees. What you get is a team designed for your practice, installed, and run by us. You can cancel any time.
